Kehau

Kehau

As the Owner & Lead Coordinator of Eventful, I would like to take some time to introduce myself since we will be spending quite a few hours together planning and executing your special celebration.

I wasn’t always an Event Planner. I had a career in Human Resources and Staffing before this but I never quite felt satisfied. I always felt like there was something else I was meant to do. During this time, I began putting together events at work such as holiday parties, after hour social events and job fairs. I also served key roles in coordinating employee incentive programs, organizing special committees and conducting presentations. This is when I felt truly happy and focused so I ended up finding my true calling and decided to pursue event planning.

I added to my experience by planning and organizing events for family and friends. I was often the "go to" person because of my attention to detail and my organizational skills so it was a natural fit to help them more and more.

From there, I started gaining experience in reunions, showcases and fundraising as well. In 2003, I started Eventful as a part time business while still working in HR.

In January 2007, I was given the opportunity to purchase Dreams Unlimited and make event planning my full time career. In 2008, I merged Dreams Unlimited with Eventful to more efficiently service my clients and to focus more on coordination.

I am a local girl, born and raised on the Windward Side of O`ahu. I am a graduate of Kamehameha Schools and Chaminade University where I received multiple honors for my diligence and organization. I am a proud member of several business associations and am looking to pursue more volunteer and community work.

I’ve been married to my wonderful husband, Charles, since 2001 and became a Mom in 2007.

I promise to do my best to create the greatest event you can imagine and to help alleviate your worries along the way. I will be honest and compassionate and will help you in every way that I can to take the stress away so you can enjoy your day!

I look forward to working with you!

Charles

Charles

Charles is the husband of Kehau and technically the Vice-President of Eventful. However, if you ask him, he’ll say he’s “just the muscle” and “a gopher”. Charles does not work with Eventful full time but he is a full time supporter of our business. He often works the expo booths and will be on hand to set up, break down and help manage the timeline on event days. He is our “Groom & Tuxedo Specialist”!! When he’s on hand, he makes sure to give 110% for the Groom and the Groomsmen to ensure they have a special day too and he can help find, fix or put on any tuxedo out there.

Colleen

Colleen

Colleen was born and raised on the island of O`ahu and currently resides in Honolulu with her husband, Tim. During her years at Kalaheo High School and Hawaii Pacific University, Colleen found herself drawn to various activities and participated in the committees to plan and organize public events and school dances. She also started planning birthday parties and baby showers. Through this, she found that she met a lot of great new people, learned how to tackle various challenges and saw that she enjoyed having a fantastic end result. In 2008, Colleen decided to learn how to add to her repertoire by planning weddings and applied for the Assistant position with Eventful. She was a perfect fit from the start and began working for us in April of 2008. Per Colleen, “being able to help create that special moment for someone along with being a part of it is very self rewarding.” As a recent graduate with a degree in Marketing, Colleen is also an asset to Eventful in our efforts to design new collateral and marketing strategies. She volunteers for various organizations and works outside of Eventful but she always has time for our clients and strives to always meet their needs.

U`i

A Masters Student at University of Hawai`i at Manoa majoring in Family Resources, U`i joined Eventful in the summer of 2009 after learning of an open position in the field that she aspires to someday have a career in.

Born and raised in Kailua and a graduate of Kamehameha, U`i has found her passion in planning events through her large network of friends and their commitment to host monthly theme parties to stay in touch as they go through their college and adult years.

She has also gained experience by serving as Vice President of Fundraising for Phi Upsilon Omicron, a national honors society. In this role, she is responsible for fundraising efforts and event planning for their banquet.

Her enthusiasm for meeting new people, helping others and being creative are all assets for the Eventful team. She is highly organized and efficient and has a "can-do" attitude that benefits all of our clients. Her diverse background in extracurricular activities throughout high school and college, including a role as Class Manager for Jazzercise, has given her skills that every planner should have, such as dedication, time management and problem solving.

We also have several on-call assistants that include some of our previous Brides!
